I like to think of this not so much as a "blog" space, but an online Linux column.
In many ways, the goal is to express ideas and opinions that will will make the reader want to know more. Hopefully encourage them to do more than just be a spectator or couch potato.
If the reader pursues an idea, goes out to learn more because of something they read here, then they will undoubtedly apply that knowledge somehow, somewhere. By doing that, they have begun contributing and learning to be more than an "average" Linux user.
This "online column" strives to be a tool. A vehicle of thought and direction. The utmost desire is to help someone learn, understand or even question information. To actively pursue facts and learning.
This goal is a noble one and is true to the values of Linux. It is done not out of greed or material gain, but in the spirit of sharing and community.
We would like to extend an invitation to a few people who love to learn, love to write and educate. People who find themselves compelled to participate in the Linux community.
If you are a writer, a teacher or an enthusiast with the desire to find a place that encourages the spirit of the Linux community, feel free to apply to be an "online columnist" here at Polar Bears and Penguins.
You may contact Big Bear at bigbearomaha at gmail dot com to find out more on how we can come together to make PBP a truly special place and a must see destination for the Linux enthusiasts, technicians and users everywhere.
