I am a network guy. I have been a network/server tech and admin for over 15 years now and so far, I find Linux to be the most secure but still flexible solution for this environment.
I started with Novell Netware 6 and have seen the rise of Windows and the evolution of Linux.
In my opinion, Linux and BSD are the big dogs where network and servers are concerned.
On the user end, I think Linux makes for a secure and efficient workstation.
I have two other websites with blogs/posts sections that I maintain as well. BEL Project for discussing small business networking and IT admin and for beekeeping, I have BBE-Tech Apiary.
I find myself becoming argumentative and generally frustrated trying to argue about nuances in Linux development and that is not what I want to come across as or be. I want to be enthusiastic and optimistic about Linux and it's potential where I am concerned as a tech and admin.
So, I will be letting Polar Bears and Penguins go. I want to thank everyone who visited and was supportive of the things posted here.
Thank you to everyone who signed on as a "friend" to the site. It really made my day to see people as sick and twisted as I am to want to keep regular track of this site.
If you like and care to read what further I might have to discuss about how I and others integrate Linux into small business networks and environments, you are most welcome to visit BEL Project. I will continue posting on how I see Linux fitting into that environment on that site.
I will keep this site open for thirty days from today (basically meaning to the end of the year) to allow any of you Linux deviants ( heh heh) to copy anything from here you might be interested in keeping around (God only knows what that could possibly be) Then it and everything in it will be gone.
No new material will be added here though.
For those coming on over to the other sites, you are welcome to not only read the posts but participate in the related user forums as well.
Keep it real, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a big thanks to Susan at TuxMachines who was kind enough to show people the way over here from time to time.
Edit: Just for the record, I will approve all comments on this last post, even anonymous ones, like me or hate me, it's all good. spammers of course can take a flying leap.
